Why the HZRDUS Red CB Is a Solid Titleist Driver Shaft for a TSR2

The Titleist TSR2 is newly refined, with a more forgiving face that produces more replicable results, optimized for players that make contact all over the club face.

The TSR2 is also made with VFT, or “Variable Face Thickness,” which creates almost uniform CT across the entire face.

It’s also been slimmed down, with improved aerodynamics and a refined toe shape that makes it easier to swing it faster.

These are high launch but low spin clubs that send the ball farther by aiming up, without complicating shot dispersion as a result of excess spin.

It’s also the case that one of the recommended Titleist driver shafts for the TSR2, per Titleist itself, is a Project X HZRDUS Red CB. Here are a few reasons why that is.

What the HZRDUS Red CB Offers

The HZRDUS Red CB is fairly lightweight, with reasonable bend profiles and more moderate torque, making it a solid option for a lot of players swinging a TSR2.

Notably, it produces medium launch and spin characteristics - not too much of either, instead letting the TSR2 do its work.

With a driver that launches as high as the TSR2, you don’t necessarily need a high-launching shaft as a compliment. You also don’t need one that produces too much spin.

It’s also a great shaft for players that don’t swing too hard or fast. One of the reasons for this is its lightweight design. Players with slightly slower swing speeds can swing the club faster as a result of its lighter weight.

Even so, this shaft is intended to best serve players that have a more moderate swing tempo, not necessarily players who swing very hard or fast.

Is It Your Only Option in a Titleist Driver Shaft for This Club?

Far from it, and in fact, Titleist recommends a wide variety of other shafts for the TSR2, each of which offers something unique to golfers.

For players that have stronger, faster swing speeds and more aggressive tempos, some solid options, per Titleist, are the TENSEI 1K Black and HZRDUS Black 4G. These are low-launching shafts that will rely mostly on a player’s swing speed to get the job done.

For players with slightly slower swing speeds, some better options include other mid and higher-launching shafts, such as the TENSEI AV Blue with Xlink Tech, Tour AD DI, Tour AD UB, and Tour AD IZ.

For more information, take a look at what Titleist specifically recommends in addition to these; these Titleist driver shafts for a TSR2 are really just a starting point.
